Introduction

Established in 2004, Pwnage is a US-based peripherals company. The ambidextrous (not symmetrical, despite the name) Ultra Custom Pro Symm 3 is all about customization. Out of the box, the Ultra Custom Pro Symm 3 comes with three different back covers and two different sets of main button pieces. The back covers allow one to adjust the hump height and curvature, whereas the main button pieces differ in terms of comfort groove depth. By default, the Ultra Custom Pro Symm 3 has Huano switches of the blue shell, pink plunger variety installed, but these are hot-swappable, and the switch socket is compatible with both 3-pin mechanical and 5-pin optical switches, such as Omron D2FP-FN2. The main buttons can be further fine-tuned by using the included button spacers. Much like on previous Pwnage releases, the sensor position may also be adjusted across a distance of 5 cm in total. Due to this level of customization, the Ultra Custom Pro Symm 3 weighs a bit more at 54 g, though this weight is achieved while retaining a largely solid shell, save for several openings on the bottom. The Ultra Custom Pro Symm 3 comes with Pwnage's custom XERO sensor capable of 36,000 CPI, which is based on PixArt's PAW3950. Polling rates of up to 8000 Hz are possible in both wired and wireless operation, and Nordic's latest 54 series MCU allows for up to 120 hours of battery life at 1000 Hz. Configuration is done either within a software requiring installation or conveniently through a web driver. The Ultra Custom Pro Symm 3 is available in black, white, or Nyomi Purple.
