ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition (PX13, HN7306) Review - Small but Deadly

Introduction

ASUS Logo

Strix Halo CPUs are definitely the next big thing for the mobile market. They pack up to 16 full-blown Zen 5 cores with SMT, a massive cache, a generous TDP, and a mind-blowingly fast iGPU. It's the classic "more, more, more" mantra, which is fantastic news for power users and enthusiasts.

Since the APU is so incredibly potent, skipping the dedicated GPU allows this chip to fit into much thinner, more compact laptops. The ASUS ProArt PX13 isn't just another face in the crowd; it stands out with its durable chassis, great portability, and surprisingly good cooling for a 13-inch laptop—not to mention the various quirks and features hidden under the hood.

For starters, this ProArt device is powered by the mighty AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395. It's a punchy 32-threaded chip with enough power for everyday use and heavy-duty tasks like content creation, video editing, or even 3D rendering on the go. Since we're firmly in the AI era, that 50 TOPS NPU is definitely going to come in handy for many users.

AMD has a long history of making great integrated graphics, and they're keeping that momentum going with the Radeon 8060S. But this isn't just your typical generational step up; this is the kind of iGPU that can actually trade blows with mid-range dedicated cards.

Of course, a powerful NPU is part of the package too. With 50 TOPS of AI processing power, this little laptop punches way above its weight class when it comes to serious AI workloads. The machine's overall snappiness is boosted by up to 128 GB of integrated unified memory, which helps cut down system latency - a total lifesaver for heavy multitasking. The iGPU also thrives on that fast RAM; honestly, the frame rates surprised me so much that I actually double-checked my data on the first few games I tested. I never expected an integrated solution to be this fast!

The display is an OLED touchscreen with a respectably high 2880×1880 resolution. On one hand, the 60 Hz refresh rate might not sound that tempting, but keep in mind this isn't strictly a gaming rig - even if it can certainly handle the job. On the plus side, the screen's color capabilities are nearing perfection.

The new ASUS ProArt GoPro Edition is a dream for creators, acting as a high-tech home base for all your action footage. Thanks to the StoryCube app, your GoPro clips sync directly from the cloud at full quality without you lifting a finger. The built-in AI does the heavy lifting by automatically sorting your videos into categories like "outdoor activities" or "pets."

You can stop hunting for specific shots because the app lets you browse by location on a map or scroll through a simple timeline. It's also incredibly flexible, letting you pull in files from your phone, hard drives, or other cameras just as easily. If you're in a rush, the AI can even auto-generate highlight reels so you have something to post immediately.

ASUS is also packing in some serious value with a free 12-month GoPro Premium+ subscription, which includes unlimited cloud storage. On top of that, you get three months of Adobe Creative Cloud and six months of CapCut to handle your professional editing needs. Essentially, this laptop handles the messy file management so you can focus on the fun part of filmmaking. It's a complete creative ecosystem that makes the jump from "camera to finished edit" feel almost effortless.
