Introduction

Established in 2018, G-Wolves is a peripherals company based in China. With the ambidextrous HTX Ultra, G-Wolves updates 2023's HTX 4K across the board. At 32 g, the HTX Ultra weighs 11 g less than the HTX 4K, while still maintaining an open-bottom design with a solid top shell. For the sensor, PixArt's PAW3950 capable of 30,000 CPI sees use, along with Nordic's latest nRF54L15 MCU, which greatly improves battery life. In addition, a secondary USB high-speed MCU allows for polling rates of up to 8000 Hz in both wired and wireless operation. The main buttons have been outfitted with switches custom-made by Huano for G-Wolves, rated for 80 million clicks and featuring an orange transparent shell as well as an orange plunger. These are so-called SPDT (single-pole, double-throw) switches, which feature a top contact in addition to the usual bottom contact. By utilizing the NC pin, physical click latency is reduced by a significant amount, as a click can already be registered upon the top contact being opened instead of having to wait for the bottom contact to close. The feet are made of pure PTFE, with several replacement sets included in the box. Configuration is done conveniently through a web driver. The HTX Ultra is available in black, white, pink, Emerald Green, Clear Sky, Rose Tint, Violet, Ruby, or Silver Gray.
