A year and a half down the line from the release of the original ROG Strix B850-F Gaming Wi-Fi7, ASUS has launched its successor. With a Neo tagged onto the end of the name, the new ROG Strix B850-F Gaming Wi-Fi7 Neo looks to right a few small wrongs with the older model in much the same way as other refresh motherboards across B850, X870 and X870E chipsets have over the last few months.
In addition to a preloaded Wi-Fi driver in the new larger 512 Mbit (64 MB) BIOS, we have a more DIY-focused design and greater networking and USB speeds. The board also ushers in a new software suite, besides a newer EFI than was present on the old board, although both those are or will be available on older models too.
There are a couple of areas where features are fewer, while we'll also be taking a close look at the price difference between old and new too and whether the older model is now out of date or actually better value, plus there's the competition to consider too.
