Crikey, they sure do love putting Miss Lucy Cyberpunk in other games, don't they? First Guilty Gear Strive, then Wuthering Waves, and now the Cyberpunk Edgerunners characters is finding a facsimile of her visage transposed onto another's body as a skin in Apex Legends. In fact, there's a whole Cyberpunk crossover coming, in a move from the battle royale that brings it closer and closer to Fortnite.
The Cyberpunk event is a multipronged one. For starters, E-District is getting a complete makeover for the duration, replacing what was with glowy, neon towers and holograms showing the logos of companies you've seen littered across Cyberpunk 2077. Then, there are some items you can pick up, the first being the classic Sandevistan, which lets you quickly dash and recharge your shield as you do, the second being Blackwall Breach, which lets you "phase into the Net to reposition, then unleash a disruptive EMP that cracks enemy shields and tracks their location."
Use those mods too much and you'll enter Cyberpsychosis, which in practice means you move a lot faster, your melee damage is incredibly strong, but you can't use weapons, abilities, shields, or any ordnances. To balance that, you can pick up immunoblocker syringes in various locales around the map, or immunoblocker caches which solve the issue entirely.
And then there's the skins, which in quantity lean towards Cyberpunk 2077, but that hasn't stopped marketing from using the Edgerunners characters as the posterchildren. Here's the skins you can expect from the event: Sparrow is getting David Martinez, Axle is getting Lucy, Rampart is getting Rebecca, Gibraltar is getting Royce, Ash is getting Lizzy Wizzy, Loba is getting Panam, and Crypto and Lifeline are getting Male and Female V respectively.
The event kicks off soon too, on July 14th, and runs until August 4th, so if you want those kind of weird looking skins, you'd best set some time aside.
