A holistic view of the energy transition for financials
Energy Supply Ratios are BNEF’s annual review of how buy-side and sell-side financial institutions have aligned with climate principles. These ratios are designed to shift attention toward the low-carbon energy growth required to displace fossil fuels and limit global warming. They can also help financials identify growth opportunities in the energy space.
Energy supply banking ratios focus on the banking industry. They reflect bank finance through underwriting of debt and equity instruments as well as energy project finance and tax equity.
Energy supply fund ratios focus on investment portfolios and institutions. They connect financial ownership with real economy activities, by measuring the volume of capital expenditure enabled by funds.
