Work assignments 

We are now looking for a postdoc at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN) at the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences. The position offers a unique opportunity to work in the exciting intersection between social neuroscience, psychiatry and addiction medicine.

You will work in an international environment and primarily with leading an experimental human study on the effects of temporal interference targeting the amygdala on affective processing.  

You will work closely with other lab members and supervise students and research assistants. 

As postdoc, you will principally carry out research. A certain amount of teaching may be part of your duties, up to a maximum of 20% of working hours.

Qualifications

To be qualified to take employment as postdoc, you must have been awarded a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is deemed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree.  This degree must have been awarded at the latest by the point at which LiU makes its decision to employ you.

It is considered advantageous if your doctoral degree is no older than three years at application deadline for this job. If there are special reasons for having an older doctoral degree – such as taking statutory leave – then these may be taken into consideration.

We are looking for someone with a PhD in a relevant field (eg neuroscience, cognitive science, psychology, psychiatry)

You have the following experience and knowledge:

• strong competence in planning and leading experimental human studies in the field of affective and social neuroscience 

• experience with neuromodulation techniques, in particular temporal interference 

• proficiency in psychophysiological recording, in particular eye-tracking 

• strong competence in statistical modelling of human behavioral and psychophysiological data 

• knowledge and experience in the field of affective neuroscience, with particular focus on human amygdala 

• knowledge in the field of substance use disorder, including alcohol use disorder 

• strong competence in statistical software tools, preferably R  

• strong academic writing skills 

• experience with student supervision 

• good knowledge of English, spoken and written 

As a person, you take initiative and you have well-developed communication skills. Furthermore, we would like you to be responsible, committed and able to work independently, as well as having good cooperation skills. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities and suitability.
