As a Research Engineer you will serve as a supportive function for the researchers within the experimental activities at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN). The conducted research focuses on neurobiological mechanisms, underlying affective disorders and addictions.
Your tasks will consist of:
We are looking for someone who has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine/Biology or equivalent. The applicant is expected to have documented good skills in neurobiology.
Completed Animal Science Course (LiU course 8FO0141-Laboratory Animal Sciences, 5 credits or equivalent course at another university) is a requirement. The applicant should have experience working with rodent models for affective disorders/addiction, particularly relevant is experience regarding stress models, operant self-administration, conditioned placed preference and observational fear learning paradigm.
The applicant is expected to have special knowledge in behavior analysis (using software programs such as EthoVision and imageJ), experience in tissue sampling and laboratory methods such as immunohistochemistry and ELISA as well as experience in confocal microscopy.
We aim to hire a responsible and committed person with good initiative and communication skills. Due to the research environment you need to be fluent in both written and spoken English. You should be able to work well both independently and with other people. Great emphasis will be given to personal qualities and suitability.
You will work at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN) within the Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (BKV), Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Full‑time, fixed‑term position for one year.
