The holder of this position will lead an independent research programme in materials science with a particular focus on polymer electronics, for example the development of multifunctional organic semiconductor materials with electrical and optical properties tailored for different purposes, primarily within electronics and energy applications. The research profile of the position includes the development of plant bioelectronics and plant-based biohybrid systems, in which organic electronic materials are integrated with living plants in order, for example, to monitor and modulate physiological processes in real time. The research profile may also include exploring plants as active technological components, for example in adaptive, self-healing and sunlight-driven living hybrid materials for sustainable agriculture, environmental sensing and regenerative technologies.
You are active in the research community, participate in the division's activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through academic publications, and help attract external research funding.
