You will, in your future employment, actively participate in a research project on multiple sclerosis (MS), where you will be responsible for bioinformatic analyses aimed at identifying biomarkers for disease progression and treatment response. The position also includes manuscript preparation.
The person we need is analytical, curious, and a strong team player.
The following education, experience and expertise are required:
· Master’s degree in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology, or a related field.
· Experience in the analysis of large-scale biological data, such as proteomics, metabolomics, or other omics data types. Proficiency in statistical analysis (in particular predictive modeling), machine learning, and visualization of complex data.
· Very good proficiency in spoken and written English.
In addition, the following education, experience and expertise will strengthen an application:
· Ability to communicate and explain complex bioinformatics research findings within interdisciplinary teams.
· Experience working in a laboratory environment or in close collaboration with experimental researchers (e.g., molecular biology).
· Research experience in autoimmune diseases, in particular multiple sclerosis, and an understanding of relevant clinical factors and pathological mechanisms.
· Basic proficiency in Swedish.
The position is located in the Division of Molecular Medicine and Virology, MMV, in Sofia Nyström’s research group. Molecular and cellular research in the fields of cancer, inflammatory diseases, and infections is conducted at the division. The research group focuses on mechanisms that lead to immune activation in inflammatory diseases and on identifying biomarkers in multiple sclerosis.
This is a fixed-term, full-time position for 4 months, starting date by agreement
