Logitech’s Spotlight 2 Will Stop People Sleeping Through ...

Logitech Spotlight 2 held in hand

The new Spotlight 2 from Logitech is designed to be more than a simple PowerPoint clicker. It has haptic feedback, digital highlighting, laser pointer and can be customized using the Logi Options+ software.

LOGITECH

As well as launching a folding mouse today, Swiss company Logitech has also unveiled the Spotlight 2, an advanced tool designed to keep audiences fully engaged, which is not always easy with PowerPoint presentations.

The new pointing device goes beyond simple controls to move back and forth through a presentation. It’s the first device of its type to have built-in guided breathing exercises as well as an intuitive, force-sensitive highlighting button with subtle haptic feedback.

The Spotlight 2 is designed to bolster a speaker’s confidence before they go on stage. It has an indentation so users can find the place to put their thumb just by feel. The Spotlight 2 also lets the presenter highlight details on a slide easily and naturally while staying focused on the audience. To prepare for presenting, the device creates soft haptic pulses to help the presenter calm and regulate their breathing.

“Whether a speaker presents daily or is taking the stage for the first time, nerves are natural,” says Joseph Mingori, VP and general manager at Logitech. “Spotlight 2 is designed to be the steadying anchor in these stressful moments. By combining grounding haptic features that reassure the speaker with enhanced digital capabilities that engage the audience, we are providing technology that lets each presenter take their performance to the next level.”

Digital Highlighting Effects

Most presenting devices offer a laser pointer. However, the Spotlight 2 has advanced highlighting effects, including Spotlight, Squarelight, Magnify and Annotation, in addition to a digital pointer and Class 1 laser handy for keeping cats amused.

The digital highlighter and pointer can be used to emphasize key points and ensure facts land with impact in both in-person and hybrid settings. Described as “easy to use, intuitive and customizable,” the Spotlight 2 can be customized using the Logi Options+ software. Users can configure the Action Button to trigger shortcuts like start, blank screen or mute with a single press, which turns the Spotlight 2 from a simple clicker into a personalized control center.

The new Spotlight 2 presenting device is available in Graphite and Sand globally, as well as Light Lilac and Black in certain markets.

LOGITECH

Designed For Sustainability

The new Logitech Spotlight 2 is designed to reduce its environmental impact by using selecting materials like aluminum made with renewable energy and certified post-consumer recycled plastic. The plastic parts include 43% recycled plastic for Graphite, Sand, Light Lilac and Black models to give a second life to end-of-life plastics from old consumer electronics, as well as FSC-certified paper packaging. The result is a product that is beautiful with a lower carbon impact.

Other features offered with the Spotlight 2 include easy pairing over Bluetooth or with the included Logi Bolt USB-C receiver. The device can be fully charged in three hours for three months of use. A quick three-minute charge will provide three hours of presenting time, handy if you’ve forgotten to recharge just before an important presentation.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

The Spotlight 2 works across-platforms and can be used with PowerPoint, Google Slides, Apple Keynote on macOS and Windows. The wireless range is up to 30m or 100 feet, enough to give the person presenting plenty of scope to move around on stage without being tied to a laptop.

The new device also includes a new and improved secure grip for a more confident hold, enabling the presenter to remain focused on the performance without the distraction of the device slipping out of their hand. The Haptic Feedback function offers tactile feedback when highlighting slide details or when following the guided breathing exercise.

The Advanced Digital Highlight Effects have been developed to help keep the audience engaged. The highlight can operate in Spotlight, Magnify, Squarelight and Annotate modes as well as functioning as a digital pointer and Class 1 laser.

Pricing and Availability:

Logitech’s new Spotlight 2 Digital Presenter will be available in Graphite and Sand globally, and Light Lilac and Black in select markets, priced at $129.99 / £109.99 / €129.99 from www.logitech.com or local and online retailers.
