The Mangaluru-based St Aloysius (deemed-to-be university) will launch four full-time B Tech programmes under its newly established School of Engineering from the academic year 2025-26.

Addressing media persons in Mangaluru on Monday, Rev Praveen Martis, Vice-Chancellor of St Aloysius, said All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has given approval to start four engineering programmes. They are: B Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, B Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), B Tech in Information Science and Engineering, and B Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The student intake for each programme is 60.

These programmes will be offered at the main campus of St Aloysius at Light House Hill in Mangaluru city.

Stating that the seven-storey engineering college building is nearing completion, he said this facility will house high tech laboratories, smart classrooms, innovation and research centres, and collaborative learning spaces.

The School of Engineering will be led by a team of highly qualified and experience faculty, committed to nurturing the next generation of engineers and technologists, he said, adding, curriculum of the B Tech programmes has been prepared in consultation with the industry partners.

St Aloysius is a heritage institution with 145 years of service in education sector.
