India rounded off a successful season of International STEM Olympiads with a six-member team securing 2 Gold and 4 Silver medals at the 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2026 held in Shanghai. China, USA, Russia, Singapore, Vietnam and Korea came in the top six ranks with China’s six-member team sweeping all golds and US team clinching four gold medals and 1 silver and bronze each.

This was the largest IMO ever organized since 1959 with the Indian contingent competing against nearly 680 brilliant participants from 117 nations, as per Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education (HBCSE).

The Indian team of winners comprised Aarav Gupta (Delhi) – Gold, Abel George Mathew (Karnataka) – Gold, Bairav Murugan (Karnataka) – Silver, Kanav Talwar (Delhi) – Silver, Sanjana Philo Chacko (Kerala) – Silver, and Shreya Shantanu Mundhada (Mumbai) – Silver.

The Indian contingent was led by Leader Anant Mudgal (Mathelots Pvt.
