The Reinstein Prize for Jazz 2026

Sun 17 May

St John's College

Applications are invited from members of the University of
Cambridge who are either undergraduates (including affiliated
students) or postgraduate students at the time of issue of this
notice, for the Reinstein Prize for Jazz Performance.

The competition is open to students of all Colleges,
including previous participants (and winners) of the Prize.
One or more cash prizes will be awarded to outstanding
jazz musicians on the basis of an audition to take place at
St John’s College in the morning of Sunday 17 May 2026.
Each performer will be given an audition slot of 10 minutes.
The winner(s) may also be invited to participate in a jazz concert
to be held at St John’s College.

Candidates are required to submit email applications by noon on
Monday 4 May to eve.doyle@joh.cam.ac.uk providing the following
information:
• Full name
• email address
• College affiliation
• Year of study, Tripos or Faculty
• Type of instrument (which may include voice)
• The names of accompanists, if any, and
instruments involved (accompanists must
be provided by the applicant);

A piano will be available in the room of the audition.
