Your best work sits behind a paywall for a good reason, but sometimes there's still someone you'd like to share it with without asking them to subscribe — a journalist writing about your work, a potential sponsor, or a reader you'd love to win over.

Until now, your options were to comp the person a full subscription, make the post public temporarily, or not share it at all. Most ended up choosing the last one.

Now every members-only post and page has a gift link. Copy it from your posts list or the post's analytics page, then send it to anyone. They read the post in full — no sign-up or paid subscription needed.

And if a link gets forwarded further than you intended, reset it from the same place. A fresh link takes over, and the old one stops working on the spot.

If you have traffic analytics enabled, the post's analytics page shows how many visitors its gift link has driven.

On the reader's side, they land on the full post, with the rest of your paid work still locked, and a note lets them know they've been gifted access.

Ghost(Pro) users can log in and start enjoying all of this right away! If you're a developer, self-hosting Ghost, you'll need to update to the latest version to get access to everything that's new.
