Alexandre Proutiere, professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology and a researcher connected to Wallenberg AI, Autonomous Systems and Software Program (WASP), has been awarded the 2026 ACM SIGMETRICS Achievement Award. The award recognizes researchers who have made lasting and influential contributions to the performance evaluation of computer and communication systems.

Alexandre is recognized for his work on the modeling, analysis, and control of large-scale networked systems. His research spans areas such as stochastic networks, resource allocation, and learning in networks—providing theoretical foundations that help guide the design of efficient and reliable communication systems and digital infrastructure.

The SIGMETRICS Achievement Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions in the field of performance analysis for computing systems. It is presented by ACM SIGMETRICS, the international research community focused on the measurement, modeling, and evaluation of computer systems.

At KTH, Alexandre contributes to Sweden’s growing AI and systems research ecosystem, including through collaborations connected to WASP. His work bridges machine learning, networks, and system performance—areas that are central to the development of next-generation intelligent and autonomous systems.

The award will be presented at the ACM SIGMETRICS 2026 Conference in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where Alexandre will deliver an invited talk highlighting the research contributions behind the award.
