Hello. I’m writing to request support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 in Geekbench 7.

I recently downloaded Geekbench 7.0.0 for Linux and attempted to run it on an up-to-date RHEL 9 system. Unfortunately, the AVX2 executable fails immediately with the following error:

geekbench_avx2: /lib64/libm.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.35' not found

RHEL 9 ships with glibc 2.34 and maintains that version throughout its lifecycle, with Red Hat backporting fixes rather than moving to newer glibc releases. As a result, Geekbench 7’s glibc 2.35 requirement prevents it from running on RHEL 9 without replacing a core system library, which isn’t safe or practical.

Given RHEL 9’s widespread use and long support lifecycle, would Primate Labs consider building the Linux version of Geekbench 7 against glibc 2.34, or otherwise providing a RHEL 9-compatible build?

Supporting glibc 2.34 would make Geekbench 7 usable on RHEL 9 while retaining compatibility with newer Linux distributions.
