Flexjet and Formula 1 have signed an exclusive multi-year partnership. Flexjet customers will have access to VIP experiences as part of the deal.

In the latest sponsorship linking private aviation companies and professional sports, Flexjet has become the official private aviation supplier of Formula 1 as part of a multi-year agreement.

The first activation takes place this weekend at Silverstone for the Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix 2026, before moving to Belgium and Hungary.

As part of the deal, the fractional private jet operator is offering fleet access for VIPs, executives, and teams. Flexjet will operate the flights using sustainable aviation fuel.

LVMH-backed L Catterton invested $800 million in Flexjet last year.

LVMH counts Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Dior, Tiffany & Co., Fendi, Belmond, Cheval Blanc, and Dom Perignon among its 75 maisons.

Per a press release from the private jet company, "Through the global partnership, Flexjet will leverage Formula 1's prodigious worldwide reach and elite audience appeal."

Flexjet customers "will also enjoy exceptional hospitality and behind-the-scenes experiences at selected global Grand Prix race events – as part of the Flexjet Red Label program providing curated experiences inside and outside of the cabin."

The duo will "collaborate on a digital content series which celebrates their powerful synergies and shared vision."

Flexjet has design collaborations with Bentley and Riva, and is expected to debut a collaboration with Louis Vuitton, so there is the possibility of a Formula 1 interior.

Flexjet has had a private viewing box at the Formula 1 race in Miami, Florida, for the last several years, with officials previously saying it is one of the most requested hospitality activations from its UHNW clientele.

At Silverstone, it won't be alone.

Last year, Air Charter Service, a UK-based private aviation charter broker, signed a multi-year agreement with the track to operate a heliport at there, including during the Formula 1 event.

Air Charter Service estimated its terminal would handle 6,000 passengers on over 1,500 flights. Its CMO James Leach noted, "The benefits of private aviation mainly revolve around time saving, with our helicopter shuttles saving many people on average between two hours and five hours, whilst those traveling from abroad by private jet can often save even more time. We believe that whatever private aviation solution clients choose, the experience needs to be exceptional, and that is what we intend to deliver."

Several Formula 1 teams have their own partnerships with private jet companies.

VistaJet has had a long-term partnership with Scuderia Ferrari.

In January, OneFlight International signed on as the official private aviation partner of the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team. It has been using activations during Formula 1 races in Las Vegas and Miami as a perk for its jet card clients.

Broker Jet365 was the official private aviation provider for the BWT Alpine Formula 1 Team last year.

NetJets, the largest player in the private aviation space, has previously aligned with Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport and ROKiT Williams Racing. According to its website, it is currently the official private aviation partner of NASCAR.

Andrew Collins, Global CEO of Flexjet, told CNBC this morning, "We are seeing it is not an economy of things anymore; it's an economy of experiences."

Last month, Flexjet renewed its sponsorship of the Laver Cup, a tennis event featuring top professionals from Europe against those from the rest of the world.

The alliance between sport and private aviation has been ongoing.

NetJets executives say the Masters golf tournament in Augusta, Georgia, is its busiest single event.

In 2024, the unit of Berkshire Hathaway signed an exclusive partnership with the R&A, making it the official private aviation provider of The Open, which will be held at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Merseyside, England, beginning July 12.

In 2025, Airshare signed on as the official private aviation provider for the PGA of America, the Ryder Cup in 2025 and 2029, the PGA Championship, and the PGA National Club Championship through 2029.

In addition to its F1 partnership, OneFlight has been title sponsor of the PGA OneFlight Myrtle Beach Class for the past two years.

In advance of the World Cup, NetJets signed Lionel Messi as an ambassador, including a private youth clinic for the scions of its fractional-share owners.
