The past week at SerpApi brought new APIs, features, expanded scraping capabilities, steady improvements to existing APIs, and a range of important bug fixes.

Google's new /goto redirect links

Google has been rolling out a new URL format across Search. Instead of linking directly to the destination page, some results now use a google.com/goto URL that redirects through Google first. This can cause the link field in some SerpApi responses to contain that intermediary /goto URL instead of the direct destination URL.

Our engineering team is actively resolving these across affected result types as Google's implementation continues to evolve; this week we shipped additional fixes covering ai_overview, questions_and_answers, recipes_results, and video_key_moments in the Google Search API, as well as the Google Lens and Google Light Search APIs. No changes are required on your end — we'll keep deploying improvements and monitoring the rollout for new variations. Bug fixes

• We have fixed the issue where searches for places returned an empty menu_highlights field. Details
• We have fixed the issue where a "Use precise location" popup could appear in the raw HTML page for some searches. Details
• We have fixed the issue where pagination links returned an incorrect query after a spelling correction. We have also added pagination support for Google News results. Details
• We have fixed the issue where recipes_results could be missing or duplicated. We are now also extracting source_icon and images in recipes_results. Details

• We have fixed the issue where some links were returned as broken/raw protobuf strings instead of proper URLs. Details

• We have fixed the issue where exact_matches could contain an invalid redirect (goto) link. Details

• We have fixed the issue where next_page_token was missing, breaking pagination, after Google moved it to a different location in the page structure. Details

• We have fixed the issue where the Playground preview always highlighted the "Best" travel mode tab regardless of the actual mode used. Details

• We are now extracting items from the scrollable image carousel that appears on the search page in some regions. Details

• We are now allowing different geo values to be used for each query when searching multiple comma-separated queries at once. Details

Bug fixes

• We have fixed the issue where some fields were missing from the Markdown (output=md) table response.

Naver Search API

Bug fixes

• We have fixed the issue where Shopping Results were missing discounted prices. Details

Yahoo! Videos API

Bug fixes

• We have fixed the issue where video_results incorrectly parsed the source field as views. Details

Amazon Product API

Features

• We are now extracting a unified promotions array in product_results, consolidating clip coupons, promo-code offers, card offers, Prime savings, volume deals, and Subscribe & Save into one consistent shape (existing coupons/offers/save_with_coupon fields are unchanged).

Bug fixes

• We have fixed the issue where product thumbnails were missing. Details

eBay Search API

Bug fixes

• We have fixed the issue where results were missing when searching with only a category_id parameter. Details

Google Events API

⚠️ Deprecation

• The Google Events API has been deprecated and no longer accepts new requests. Event data is still available via the events_results field of the Google Search API. Details
