We began our security journey last year with the release of Datadog Cloud SIEM, which provides runtime security visibility and detection capabilities for your environment. Today, we are thrilled to announce that Sqreen, an application security platform, is joining the Datadog team. Together with Cloud SIEM, Sqreen helps to protect your organization’s production environment, enabling you to further integrate the work of security, development, and ops teams — and providing a robust security monitoring solution for the cloud age.

What is Sqreen?

The shift from traditional monolithic architectures to microservices has enabled organizations to increase agility and scalability. However, the growing complexity of these distributed applications introduces a whole array of code-level security risks and vulnerabilities that traditional security solutions like intrusion detection systems and firewalls fail to catch.

Sqreen’s Runtime Application Self-Protection (RASP) and In-App Web Application Firewall (WAF) protect modern distributed applications against sophisticated attacks that target application logic. Sqreen actively detects attacks on applications and traces them all the way from network requests down to the line of code, which helps block suspicious behavior and enables responders across development, security, and ops teams to pinpoint the root cause quickly.

Observability meets AppSec

Sqreen’s technology will be a valuable addition to Datadog as we continue to build a first-class, unified monitoring and security platform that supports modern DevSecOps practices. Datadog’s powerful observability capabilities, coupled with Sqreen’s active approach to application protection, will give customers a comprehensive security strategy, leading to fewer agent deployments, simpler configurations, and a platform that security engineers, developers, and SREs can easily collaborate on to solve issues faster.

Datadog + Sqreen

We are really excited to welcome the Sqreen team to the Datadog family. They bring with them years of experience in the AppSec domain and have a strong track record in delivering seamless, user-friendly products. We believe this is a big leap forward for Datadog’s Cloud SIEM and APM offerings—and we’re confident that Sqreen is the best team to join us on this journey. Over the next couple of months, we’ll be working together to integrate the technology behind Sqreen into Datadog.

We can’t wait to get started.
