On October 16, 2024, we hosted our latest Datadog Summit in Tokyo. Hundreds of people from the Datadog community joined us in the Akasaka Intercity Conference Center for a one-day event where they could learn from and network with fellow Datadog users. The day opened with talks from Takumi Masai, our Country Leader for Japan, and Adam Blitzer, our Chief Operating Officer, who shared a bit about Datadog’s growth and our product offerings. During our morning keynote and afternoon panels we heard from 10 different Datadog customers about the innovative work they are doing and how Datadog has helped them achieve success. We also held hands-on workshops, had an onsite interactive GameDay with AWS, and showcased some product demos.

Overall the day was packed full of content and learning, and we can’t wait for our next event here in Japan.

You can watch the talks below or see the entire playlist of our customer sessions. Note that all sessions are in Japanese

Morning keynote

Morning keynote at Datadog Summit Tokyo 2024

Kicking off our customer sessions, Hiroki Nobe, an engineer at NTT Docomo, presented on how they use Datadog dashboards to monitor and enable the continuous deployment of features onto their platform, and how they leverage the insights from these dashboards to make decisions and improvements to their platform and services.

Next, Paula Miki Watanabe, an SRE from One Career, shared their journey to establishing an SLO-monitoring culture in their development team and how they used Datadog to build robust SRE practices.

In our following session, Ichiro Kano, lead of the Cloud Managed Services team at Toshiba Digital Solutions, discussed their cloud integrations and managed services, and how they’ve improved efficiency and operational costs through the use of observability tools.

Last in our morning keynote we had Shogo Ito, Senior SRE at Degica, show how his team is using Workflow Automations to make their incident responses more efficient and clear, which has reduced their overall recovery time.

Afternoon panels

In our first panel session, we had speakers from Kakehashi, BicCamera, and Wantedly discuss how they improve developer productivity.

For our last session of the day we had SRE leaders from One Career, Plaid, and Coconala discuss improving reliability practices and how they manage incidents and set their teams up for success.

Thanks for coming!

Thanks to everyone who came to Datadog Summit Tokyo, and thanks to all our speakers who shared their knowledge! We look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming summits next year.
