Become Datadog Certified as we relaunch on our new platform
2025-02-18 · via Datadog | The Monitor blog

As a technical professional, you want to stand out from the crowd. And as an engineering-focused company, you want to hire people with the skills that you need to succeed. We have built the Datadog Certification Program to meet both of these needs, offering professionals a path to build and demonstrate their knowledge of Datadog’s platform and industry best practices. The program, which consists of credentials for Datadog Fundamentals, Log Management, and APM (Application Performance Management), also allows partners to showcase their Datadog competency to potential customers.

We can now announce that we are working with a new certification vendor to provide you with an even better experience. Starting now, you can register via our website to take a certification exam on the Webassessor platform as provided by Kryterion. At Webassessor, you take an exam virtually or complete an exam in over 1,000 test centers around the world. You can also take an exam in person at our DASH conference this June (included with your ticket to the event). Upon successful completion, you will receive a badge at Credly that you can include on your resumé or post to social channels.

In this post, we’ll walk through the resources we provide for preparing for, purchasing, scheduling, and completing your exam to become Datadog Certified.

Preparing for the exam

We’ve created many conceptual and hands-on resources for you at the Datadog Learning Center that you can use to begin preparing for your exam—all for free. For each Datadog Certification exam, the Learning Center offers a corresponding Certification Learning Path composed of courses that cover relevant topics and study material. Our courses offer troubleshooting tips and hands-on lab activities launched on real cloud compute instances where you can apply our teachings using practical examples. After completing a Certification Learning Path, you can try your hand at our practice exams, composed of 25 multiple-choice questions similar to the ones you would find on the real Certification exam.

We also offer exam guides for Datadog Fundamentals, Log Management, and APM, which include a complete overview of the intended audience for each exam, the number and types of questions, the concepts and features covered on the exam, and a list of resources to get you started on your preparation journey. If you’re looking for more than just our free Learning Center content, you can engage our Technical Enablement team who can run specialized sessions for your organization to help you prepare for the exam.

Purchase and schedule

We have priced our exams to be affordable for individuals. Each exam costs $100 and consists of 90 multiple-choice questions, and you can immediately purchase an exam when you register.

However, many companies recognize the value of employing Datadog-certified professionals and want to encourage their employees to get certified. Contact your sales representative or customer success manager to purchase exam vouchers in bulk that can be used for up to 12 months by anyone in your organization. If your employer doesn’t already offer exam vouchers, ask them to support your career development by funding a Datadog certification to help you succeed in your role.

Once you are ready to take the exam, visit our certification page. You can take the exam virtually and at any time from your computer. Or, you can find one of 1,000 test centers around the world, which are located at colleges, universities, and professional test sites in major cities.

Become Datadog Certified

Once you’ve passed a Datadog certification exam, you can broadcast it on your LinkedIn profile or any social media channel. We also publish your certification badge to Credly, where you can view all the credentials you’ve earned.

With our new platform for the Datadog Certification Program, it’s never been a better time to level up your cloud-native skills and validate your Datadog knowledge. Visit our Datadog Certification page to get started on becoming Datadog certified in 2025. And if you aren’t already a Datadog user, you can sign up for a free 14-day trial.
