Project Thunderbolt is the latest yacht to be launched by CRN

CRN

This sounds a little crazy but, I have a crush on CRN’s new full-custom 229-foot-long yacht that was launched at the Ferretti Group’s superyacht shipyard in Ancona, Italy recently. It’s called Project Thunderball. It’s the result of a close collaboration between CRN, Vripack Yacht Design and Nauta.

And It was love at first sight for me simply because the Vripack Yacht Design (the Dutch design studio also responsible for the yacht’s preliminary naval architecture, and general arrangement) exterior and the deep blue and white color scheme is so darn beautiful. Meanwhile Nauta was responsible for the interiors and the design of the outdoor living areas, with a particular focus on comfort and spatial flow.

I love the elegant lines of the new CRN Project Thunderball

CRN

It would appear that Project Thunderball is an excellent example of CRN’s fully bespoke approach that integrates advanced engineering solutions, energy efficiency, and extensive customization. But it’s Thunderball’s silhouette that features an elegantly elongated bow and graceful, sailboat-inspired lines and continuity between interiors and exteriors that really impresses me.

According to advanced reports, the interior design features a refined aesthetic. But, since no photos of the interior are available at this time, I can only imagine what the interior is like. And since Project Thunderball is a full-custom yacht built for a private owner, the reality is I may never find out.

I can however, report she can accommodate 12 guests in the owner’s suite and five VIP cabins, as well as 15 crew members in nine crew cabins. She is also equipped with an Energy Storage System designed to manage onboard energy flows based on envisaged operations, capable of peak shaving and silent operation at anchor, contributing to a substantial reduction in fuel usage.

Meanwhile, I’m hoping to see this beautiful yacht for myself later this year. But there are no guarantees. Stay tuned.
