Aquila Catamarans new 50 Sail debuted in S. Florida recently

Since I started my writing about boats that normal, non-billionaires could actually sail themselves at SAIL Magazine in Boston in 1995, I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for Aquila Catamarans co-founder Lex Raas. His smart, interesting, and innovative understanding of the catamaran lifestyle started with sailing catamarans way back then, and he’s gone on to help thousands of people get out on the water with family and friends in catamarans he’s helped bring to life.
But, Aquila had not built a sailing catamaran until he and company leadership team that includes his two sons (Chief Product Officer and CEO/Aquila USA Jean Raas and Global Brand Director Alain Raas) introduced their 50 Sail at the recent Miami Boat Show.

“Introducing our Sail range was a natural evolution for Aquila and marks an exciting new chapter in our journey as a global boat manufacturer,” said Jean Raas, Chief Product Officer & CEO of Aquila USA. “Our team brings decades of hands-on sailing knowledge and industry experience, which we’ve drawn upon to enter the sailing market with intention and precision.”

According to advanced reports, the 50 Sail was developed in collaboration with Aquila Catamaran’s long-standing design partners J&J Design to maximize space, functionality, cruising comfort, and quality. And it has Aquila’s signature design elements like the bridge-to-bow stairs for easy access between the two zones too.

Meanwhile, the salon and galley areas are spacious and bright thanks to panoramic windows. Belowdecks, there’s a choice of four, five, or six cabin configurations located in each of the hulls with extensive headroom and storage throughout. Each cabin has its own private entrance and features ensuite heads with walk-in showers.
The owner's cabin is airy and spacious with large windows in the hull. And it’s super comfortable thanks to generous storage, a queen-sized bed, and en-suite head with washer/dryer utility area
