RAM crisis? What RAM crisis? Samsung has been forced into several price rises this year because of the rising price of memory, and that has—so far—impacted its discount pricing. Pre-launch Galaxy S26 leaks suggested this would be the case. While some of Samsung’s deals have been sub-par, a new promotion is its most aggressive yet and comes close to the Galaxy S25’s lowest ever price by knocking $500 of the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra launched in March for $1,299.99 for the 256GB model and $1,499.99 for the 512GB option. Samsung's first notable discount knocked $200 off in mid-May, which I reported was actually $30 less generous than the equivalent Galaxy S25 Ultra deal at the same point last year. A few weeks later, the Memorial Day sale pushed that to $250 off.
Now Samsung has gone further again, dropping the price to $999.99 alongside a free storage upgrade from 256GB to 512GB. Oddly the site is charging $999 for both the 256GB and 512GB models, although I’m not sure why anyone would pick the lower storage tier for the same price.
Altogether that is a $500 discount for the 512GB model, which represents a serious price cut by any standard, not just in the context of 2026's higher hardware prices.
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra just received a huge discount.

To put the $999.99 price in context: the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the previous generation flagship, hit a record low of $859.99 during Black Friday last year.
The S26 Ultra at $999.99 is more expensive than that, but considering the 512GB option launched at $1,499.99 two months ago and prices across the board have risen because of the memory chip crisis, getting a current generation flagship under $1,000 with double the storage is a serious deal.
The progression of Galaxy S26 Ultra discounts this year tells an interesting story. The $200 offer in May was disappointing compared to the equivalent 2025 deal. The $250 Memorial Day discount was better but still came without three free months of Samsung Care Plus, or the “APP5” discount code.
Now, a $500 offer suggests Samsung is willing to discount more aggressively than the early promotions implied, despite the ongoing RAM crisis squeezing margins.
That is broadly good news for buyers waiting for deals later in the year. Samsung’s pattern has historically been to start cautiously and become more aggressive as the year progresses, peaking around Black Friday. If the company is already at $500 off in late May, the summer and autumn deals could be more competitive than the early 2026 data suggested.
There are still some notable absences though. Samsung Care Plus remains at full price, with no free trial included. The APP5 discount code that previously knocked 5% off app purchases no longer works. The free Perplexity Pro subscription that Samsung bundled repeatedly throughout 2025 has also gone, which Samsung confirmed to me.
I also spotted last week that Samsung was offering three months free of Amazon Music with all Galaxy S26 Ultra purchases, but that seems to have disappeared. I have checked with Samsung to see if this is still available to redeem for people who have already bought the Galaxy S26 and will update the story if I get a reply.
If you have been waiting for the Galaxy S26 Ultra to become genuinely competitive on price, $999.99 for the 512GB model is the moment. I would guess that it is unlikely to get significantly cheaper before the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra launch in July, but who knows, Samsung has surprised us a few times this year with its pricing.
