Spotify Subscribers Now Get Hundreds Of Peloton Video Wor...

Spotify has started up a major fitness category, fronted by a partnership with Peloton that grants subscribers access to upwards of 1,400 workout videos.

Fitness videos join podcasts and audiobooks as yet another tributary content stream to fend off competition and subscriber attrition.

The videos are access as part of Spotify’s new Fitness hub. This can be access within the Spotify app either by searching for “fitness” in the search bar or by tapping the Fitness shortcut in the search tab.

Many of the sessions are full video workouts, and generated subtitles are offered too. Or if you’re already well-acquainted with the moves involved, you could treat them as audio-only sessions.

There are also running workouts too, which are presented as audio-only episodes.

Other categories include Yoga, Pilates & Barre, Cardio, Meditation and Strength.

Peloton used to offer a basic free tier that provided a limited array of video workouts, but this was discontinued in 2024. New users are now offered a 30-day trial of the two paid memberships, App One and App+. It proves there’s real value in this new Spotify tie-in for at-home exercisers.

However, there’s nothing like the additional smarts of an actual Peloton membership, which supports bringing in stats from wearables and third-party gym equipment.

While Peloton integration is the headline addition here, Spotify Fitness also offers “creator” workouts from channels like Jordan Yeoh Fitness, Move With Katharine and Lindsey Bomgren.

“We are expanding Spotify to become a true daily wellness companion. By bringing Peloton directly into our video and audio ecosystem, we are investing in a future where Spotify isn’t just where you spend your time—it’s where you go to build momentum, improve your wellbeing, and get more out of every day,” says Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify Global Head of Podcasts.

While Peloton is a great platform, its more recent years of operation have seen the company contend with safety recalls and the realities of having to deal with the fallout of an incredible and unsustainable growth period during Covid lockdowns.

Peloton was established in 2012 and released its first bike in 2014 following a 2013 kickstarter. It now offers a treadmill and a rowing machine too, as well as having a greater focus on general workouts and wellness.

Spotify Premium currently costs $12.99 a month in the U.S. for an individual membership.
