We're literally hours away from millions purchasing their copy of Grand Theft Auto 6 on pre-order. Rockstar Games gave us all what we wanted with a wealth of information on Wednesday, June 24, a day ahead of pre-orders going live. Let's talk GTA 6.
It goes live at midnight local time on June 25, which means it's already live in New Zealand.
Players in other regions can reserve a copy the moment the calendar flips locally through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and select retailers. Because the window is tied to local midnight rather than a single global countdown, exact timing depends on your time zone. Demand is expected to be massive, with sales projections pointing toward records no game has reached, so wishlisting now is the fastest way to get an instant alert.

The Standard Edition will run $79.99 and the Ultimate is going for $99.99, which is pretty standard. Nothing crazy emerged from the price point.
Those are the only two editions, confirmed by Take-Two, with no Collector's or Deluxe tier despite earlier price speculation. At $79.99, the Standard Edition sits at the top of the current AAA bracket, cementing $80 as the new ceiling for blockbuster releases. Ultimate adds premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and story-tied extras plus a couple of exclusive in-game shops, while Standard is just the base game.
Whether the extra $20 is worth it comes down to how much you value cosmetic and in-shop content, since the core game is identical in both.
There are some beautiful pre-order offers. Perhaps I’m saying that because the mere thought of real digital assets attached to the title is exciting after years of waiting. Nonetheless, here they are per the confirmed pre-order details
Notably, there is no early-access period, so everyone starts at the same time on launch day.
There won't be a physical disc at all for GTA 6, not even for the physical edition.
The boxed Standard Edition holds a download code tied to your account rather than a disc, and the Ultimate Edition is digital-only, so every copy is effectively a download. The box still ships on November 12 to support preloading ahead of the November 19 launch. With the pre-order window now open, many players will likely skip the box entirely and buy direct, underscoring Rockstar's fully digital-first direction.
