Sky World Cup Promotion Offers Big Price Cuts On Glass Gen 2 And Glass Air TVs
John Archer, · 2026-05-07 · via Forbes - Innovation

Sky has today launched a new World Cup promotion on its range of Glass TVs that makes them available for a limited time at as much as 20% less than their regular price.

The Glass TV range, which now comprises premium Sky Glass Gen 2 and entry-level Sky Glass Air models, has been a major success since its launch back in October 2021. In fact, a combination of the Glass TVs’ unique Sky operating system, ability to access Sky’s huge roster of channels via streaming without the need for Sky’s traditional satellite dish, and high value (especially if you buy it as part of a Sky subscription) has seen it occasionally topping monthly U.K. TV sales figures. A feat Sky would doubtless love to see repeated over May and June on the back of its new discounts.

The World Cup Sky Glass promotion will run from today, May 7 2026, until June 17 inclusive, with the deals requiring a 24-month Sky TV streaming subscription. Such subscriptions are available to new customers from £15 a month for the Sky Essential TV pack, which brings together 100+ Sky channels (including Sky Atlantic) , Netflix, and Discovery+, or £24 a month for the Sky Ultimate TV Pack, which adds more Sky channels as well as integrated Disney+, HBO Max and (from July) Hayu subscriptions. Existing Sky Q customers will need to subscribe to the £35pm package for Sky Ultimate TV with a 24-month minimum term.

The lowest prices shown below are based on a buyer purchasing their Glass TV over a 48-month period with a £20 up-front fee:

Sky Glass Air 43-inch

£4.50 a month, or £237 if bought with a one-off payment. Was previously £6 a month.

Sky Glass Air 55-inch

£7.75 a month, or £401 if bought with a one-off payment. Was previously £10 a month.

Sky is offering a next-day delivery service on all orders, too, provided the order is placed before 3pm Monday to Friday.

Both Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Glass Air are native 4K resolution TVs with high dynamic range support and Quantum Dot color systems. Both feature Sky’s unique Sky OS operating system, too, expressly designed to offer optimized navigation of Sky’s expansive collection of live-streamed channels, immense library of on-demand content, and unprecedented collection of third-party streaming apps.

Sky Glass Gen 2 additionally provides a built-in multi-channel Dolby Atmos sound system, as well as a superior picture performance powered by a true local dimming backlight system.

Sky is keen in its announcement of its new World Cup promotion to stress some of the football friendly features its Glass TVs provide. These include a Sport picture preset that enhances picture sharpness and vividness as well as tweaking the sound output to closer resemble a stadium atmosphere; the ability to watch a match from the start if you missed the start; the ability to rewind and pause live games; hands-free voice control that lets you find matches simply by saying, for instance, ‘Hello Sky, England vs Croatia”; and perhaps best of all, the ability to watch selected matches in 4K resolution via the integrated BBC iPlayer app.

Sky Mobile customers will additionally be able to watch selected matches on Sky Go, and catch up with the latest news from the tournament via the Sky Sports app, without using their data allowance.

In addition to its Sky Glass promotion, Sky will also be offering some specific sports-related perks throughout May to its Sky Sports customers through its Sky VIP programme (accessed through the My Sky app). These include a 12-month complimentary subscription to The Athletic, 15% off football kits at Fanatics, and 40% off karting experiences at TeamSport.
