Noble Audio Launches Its New Lu Ban IEMs At CanJam Singapore

Noble Audio has announced its all-new Lu Ban, a hybrid in-ear monitor with a combination of natural materials and advanced magnetic drivers. The Lu Ban launches on April 14, 2026, just in time for CanJam Singapore, which is being held from May 16-17, 2026.

The new Lu Ban IEMs are the latest addition to Noble’s universal lineup and are designed around a three-driver configuration that consists of 10mm wooden composite diaphragm dynamic drivers paired with two newly developed Super-Magnetic planar drivers. With a sensitivity of 108dB SPL/mW and an impedance of 27Ω, Noble says the Lu Ban IEMs are engineered to deliver “a refined sound from a wide range of sources.”

Wooden Composite Dynamic Driver

The Lu Ban IEMs have a sound that’s underpinned by a 10mm wooden composite diaphragm dynamic driver in each earpiece. Wood has been used for centuries to make musical instruments because it has a special and natural resonance with tonal character.

By integrating a wooden composite into the diaphragm structure, Noble says it the new IEMs have a bass that’s “deep, controlled and textured with a sub-bass frequencies extend without overhang, while the mid-bass is articulate and balanced."

Noble claims the midrange benefits from harmonic richness and realism. This means vocals have more body and presence, while acoustic instruments, such as strings and woodwinds, retain their natural decay and weight.

MORE FOR YOU

Rather than injecting an artificial warmth, the wooden composite driver is designed to introduce musicality through deliberate material engineering. This dynamic driver is the emotional core of the Lu Ban sound, thanks to the natural tone of wood.

The Lu Ban IEMs from Noble are made from Cocobolo wood and each piece has a unique wood grain.

Super-Magnetic Planar

Supporting the dynamic driver are two Super-Magnetic planar drivers, billed as representing a significant advance on conventional planar implementations. The Super-Magnetic drivers are made from a new generation of ultra-high magnetic energy neodymium-iron-boron.

The material has been refined with a precisely controlled copper element to optimize magnetic flux stability and efficiency. This advanced magnetic circuit design translates into “faster transient response, improved micro-detail retrieval and enhanced upper frequency precision.”

The idea behind the planar drivers is to bring more clarity, air and separation with high frequencies extended without glare. This concept of using triple hybrid designs is becoming increasingly common, with earbuds like the Status Audio Pro X using a similar triple-driver architecture.

Where the wooden dynamic provides a foundation of weight and musicality, the dual planar system is there to add speed and technical accuracy, especially in the upper frequencies that is designed to balance natural tonality with analytical precision.

Crafted By Design

The new IEMs were inspired by the legendary Chinese craftsman Lu Ban. The physical design has a precision construction that respects the material used. Each shell is made of Cocobolo wood, chosen for its structural stability and distinctive grain pattern.

Noble has added a 3D printed resin internal framework to ensure accurate driver placement and consistent acoustic geometry across every unit. Subtle variations in the wood grain make each pair of the IEMs unique.

The new Lu Ban IEMs are supplied with a 4-strand woven OCC silver-plated cable designed to preserve signal integrity and tonal accuracy. The cable has a fiber-woven surface coating, standard 0.78mm 2-pin connectors with L and R markings, plus a 4.4mm copper gold-plated balanced termination.

Pricing and Availability:

The Noble Lu Ban IEMs will be available from May 14, 2026, via selected retailers worldwide and are priced at $1,399 / £1,299 / €1,499. People attending CanJam Singapore will be among the first to experience the new IEMs.
