Samsung’s One UI 8.5 release, which brings new AI tools and a refreshed design, continues to roll out to more Galaxy devices. The update is now making its way to some of the cheapest phones in Samsung's lineup in more countries. There is also the possibility that more formerly exclusive Galaxy S26 features will make their way down to the Galaxy S25 series.

Spotted by SamMobile, the Galaxy A07 5G, one of Samsung's cheapest 5G phones, has started receiving One UI 8.5 in several Asian markets, including Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam. The Galaxy M55, a two-year-old mid-range device, has also received the update in India. Both phones get refreshed UI visuals, a customizable Quick Panel and Direct Voicemail, alongside the May 2026 security patch.
The update also brings new camera filters to the M55 and an upgraded Bixby powered by Perplexity AI. This is quietly one of the standout features of One UI 8.5, even alongside the Galaxy S26 AI tools the Galaxy S25 received.
To check if One UI 8.5 is available on your device, go to Settings then Software Update.
There is also potential good news for Galaxy S25 owners. Samsung may be preparing to bring Galaxy S26 AI notification tools to the Galaxy S25 series in a June 2026 One UI 8.5 update, according to Tarun Vats on X. Specifically, Priority and Summarize Notifications.
Priority Notifications uses AI to rank important alerts when surfacing them, while Summarize Notifications condenses chats without requiring you to open the app. It is not confirmed that either feature will make it to the Galaxy S25 series, but they would join a handful of advanced AI tools that already made their way down from the Galaxy S26 in the first wave of One UI 8.5, including Audio Eraser, Creative Studio, Call Screening and an updated Photo Assist.
