The site markround.com has been going since Tuesday, May 29th 2001, posting computing news and related topics. Our original start date does go back a way too, with K7M.com first appearing on the Wayback Machine in 2000 on October 17th, changing to AMDMB.com on March 1st of 2001 and PCPer.com around December 15th of 2003. In other words we are ancient.
While we focused on the latest and greatest hardware, the history of markround.com includes Amiga before starting to focus more on Unix and Linux systems. If you lived through the days of BBS sites, internet speeds measured in fractions of kilobytes and <BLINK> tags this article will bring back fond and not so fond memories.
If our sites are older than you, it would definitely be worth the time to read through a site’s history that spans from AOL Press and manual FTP uploads through to modern cloud-based clusters. I miss k5 and adequacy.org.
