Venture capital firm Pontaq Ventures, in partnership with SIG Tattva, the venture capital and innovation arm of Somany Impresa Group, conducted a two-day Founder Immersion and Start-up Workshop on Wednesday and Thursday.

Held at the manufacturing facilities of AGI Greenpac Limited, the programme brought together start-up founders, investors, and industry leaders to strengthen collaboration between start-ups and the manufacturing ecosystem. The event featured an immersive shop-floor visit on the first day, followed by a start-up-focused workshop on the second.

The workshop was attended by founders from eight selected deep-tech start-ups: Novorbis Itus, Kredily, Cairovision, mSense AI, Maxbyte Technologies, Presage Insights, Goat Robotics, and Borlaug Web Services.

The programme concluded with the award of proof-of-concept (PoC) engagements worth ₹75 lakh to five deep-tech start-ups from Pontaq’s portfolio, spanning autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), computer vision, emission control, predictive maintenance, and logistics.

According to the company, the workshop marks the first in a planned series of open innovation programmes that Pontaq, along with AGI Greenpac and SIG Tattva, intends to expand beyond its own portfolio to include start-ups backed by other venture capital firms.

“By bringing founders directly onto the shop floor alongside operational and business leaders, start-ups gain first-hand insight into real-world challenges while enterprises gain access to cutting-edge innovation. What is particularly exciting is that potential proof-of-concepts emerged within just 48 hours of engagement. This demonstrates that when industry and innovation come together in the right environment, the path from conversation to execution can be dramatically shortened”, Mr. Prem Barthasarathy, the Founder and Managing Partner of Pontaq VC, shared in a statement.
