In 2025 Noise won a Red Dot Design Award for its flagship TWS Noise Master Buds. It was a significant accolade for a homegrown Indian brand that has built a large portfolio of wearable products that include smartwatches and earbuds. The follow up to this award winning product — the Noise Master Buds 2, dropped this year with a few enhancements. Noise has ‘fine-tuned’ these buds that aim to deliver solid value in the sub Rs 10K price band with an edgy design and Bose-tuned sound. Do these buds offer more than just a unique design?

Design

The charging case of the Noise Master Buds 2, doesn’t deviate from the signature vinyl-inspired design. It’s easily one of the best looking cases in this price segment and stands out in a market dominated by bland and often predictable design. It’s geared for minor splashes with an IPX5 rating. The metal disc at the centre of the case adds to the premium vibe and also includes a charging indicator. These buds comes in three colourways; I checked out the Mercury variant, the other two options — Carbon and Aurum, also look equally refined. The vinyl record type circles on the case have an affinity for dirt and grime. The case showed signs of wear and tear after I used it on a daily basis for about a month.

The earbuds come with small wings that make it slightly easier to pull them out of the case. These buds are not always easy to remove from the case, especially when you’re on the go. I also found that the wings came off quite easily on a few occasions. The buds are almost weightless and comfortable to wear for hours together. They sit quite comfortably in your ears. They passed the gym test too, never falling out even during intensive workouts.

Sound

The ‘Sound by Bose’ badge (that’s also visible on the top of the lid of the case) is more than just branding. These buds deliver a balanced sound experience that doesn’t overdo the bass. It might disappoint some bass heads who lean towards ‘bass forward’ headphones or earbuds but I think these buds deliver one of the best acoustic experiences in the sub ₹10,000 price band. Noise has kitted the Master Buds 2 with 10mm dynamic drivers; these earbuds deliver clear mids and crisp highs, expect a distortion-free sound experience that is balanced.

I enjoyed listening to the high-energy beats on Billie Jean by TWOPILOTS & Toby Rose. These buds also aced the smooth instrumentals on the deep house track — I Dream of You by P.A.V. I tried these buds with an iPhone and a OnePlus tablet and pairing was a breeze. The companion app is easy on the eye and includes equaliser settings that allow you to personalise your sound profile. The 51dB noise cancellation was quite effective even in loud environments like airports and at the gym. The Noise Master Buds 2 did a good job with calls. Callers could hear me in various noisy environments.

Battery life

Noise claims about 6 hours of battery life for the buds and about 30 hours including the case for each charging cycle with ANC off. I always used these buds with ANC (Active noise cancellation) on, the battery levels during my experience largely matched this claim, although I rarely used these buds for more than 2-3 hours at a stretch. The case powers up in about 90 minutes while a quick 10-minute charge can give you at least 2 hours of playback. Battery life is dependable but certainly not the best in this segment.

Verdict

The Noise Master Buds 2 are one of the best buys in the sub ₹10,000 TWS Bluetooth earbuds segment. The design is unique but does come with its share of quirks. The case is not the slimmest out there and has a predilection for dust and grime. These buds pair effortlessly with both Android and iPhone users making it easy to recommend for a wide cross-section of users. Battery life is quite solid. While the design might be the Master Buds 2’s calling card, it’s the overall audio experience that was the highlight of my user experience. The Master Buds 2 buds deliver a refined sound that you rarely find at this price segment and do a terrific job of filtering out external sounds. The sound tuning by Bose truly elevates the overall experience ensuring these buds deliver bang for your buck.
