F&O Query: Analysis of Page Industries call and Dixon Tec...

I bought PAGEIND 39500 CE at a premium of ₹1,325.75. Please suggest the outlook.

Aniket Karajgikar

Page Industries (₹39,975): The stock has been rallying since mid-March. Last week, it gained 3.4 per cent and closed above a resistance at ₹39,500. While the price action shows that the scrip is struggling to break out of ₹40,000, given the momentum, we expect the price to surpass ₹40,000 soon.

A breakout of ₹40,000 can lead to an upswing to ₹42,000 before the end of this expiry. If this uptick happens in about a week, the premium of 39500-call (now at ₹1,023.60) can rise to nearly ₹2,500.

On the other hand, if the stock falls off ₹40,000 and slips below ₹39,000, it can lead to a deeper correction and the potential breakout of ₹40,000 can be delayed. In this case, holding on to the option can lead to loss due to time decay.

Considering the above factors, here is our recommendation. Hold on to the trade and exit if the premium rises to ₹2,000. But in case the premium slips below ₹500, consider exiting since a recovery after such a fall is less likely.

What is your outlook on Dixon Technologies? Is it the right time to buy a call option? Suggest a strike.

Saravanan Na

Dixon Technologies (India) (₹12,517): By gaining over 8 per cent last week, the stock has broken out of a barrier at ₹11,800. This has turned the outlook bullish. Unless the price slips back below ₹11,800, the trend will remain bullish.

The possibility of a rally from the current level is high. However, we cannot rule out a price correction to ₹12,100 before the next leg up.

If you have higher risk tolerance you can buy a call option right away. But if you prefer playing a little safer, you can go long on call if the stock price moderates to ₹12,100.

With respect to the strike, we suggest buying the 13200-call of July series, which closed at ₹367.60 on Friday. With respect to target and stop-loss, you can decide based on the price of the underlying. That is, when the stock price hits ₹13,600, exit the option at the prevailing price. But in case the stock falls below ₹11,800 book loss and exit.
