It seems that written technical content remains the key learning resource for electronics engineers. When asked which resource they use most often to learn a new topic, half of respondents (50%) selected books, magazines, and written articles, far surpassing recorded video tutorials (around 12%), live online sessions (4%), and in-person training sessions (5%). About 30% said their preferred resource depends on the topic. These findings suggest that our community members continue to appreciate detailed, searchable, and reference-oriented content when exploring complex technical subjects.

The data supports this trend while also highlighting the importance of hands-on experiences. If all learning formats were equally accessible, 50% of respondents would still choose books, magazines, and written content as their preferred method for furthering their engineering skills. However, nearly 30% would opt for in-person learning, reflecting the value of networking and direct interaction with experts. Recorded video learning ranked third at about 19%, while live online instruction attracted only a small percentage of respondents. Together, these results suggest that engineers favor learning formats that either provide deep technical depth or offer meaningful hands-on engagement.
