Event Will Feature Keynote Address by Patrick J. Kennedy, Guest Appearance by Grammy Award-Winning Artist India.Arie

ATLANTA (May 5, 2026) — Media are invited to cover the 30th Annual Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum, hosted by The Carter Center on May 19 to advance mental health policy, systems, and practice in Georgia and celebrate the legacy of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, a lifelong champion for mental health and caregiving.

Service providers, policymakers, mental health and caregiving advocates and experts, state agency officials, and other community voices will engage in conversations throughout the day, examining progress made over the past 30 years and opportunities to build a more equitable, accessible behavioral health system and support family caregivers across Georgia.

Former U.S. Rep. Patrick J. Kennedy, a leading national mental health advocate, will deliver the keynote address focused on “Policy, Parity, and the Path Forward for Mental Health.” Award-winning filmmaker and author Gita Pullapilly will discuss innovative ways to engage new audiences on mental health through storytelling.

National public health leader and former U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Chief Medical Officer Dr. Debra Houry will underscore the critical role of public health and prevention in improving mental health outcomes across the lifespan. Four-time Grammy Award-winning recording artist and mental health advocate India.Arie will join the Forum as a special guest, elevating the conversation around healing and well-being.
