ATLANTA (July 15, 2026) — The 2026 Carter Center Weekend raised more than $3 million in donations and auction sales to support the Center’s mission of waging peace, fighting disease, and easing human suffering around the world.

“For more than 30 years, Carter Center Weekend has brought together supporters united by a shared commitment to improving lives around the world,” said Carter Center CEO Paige Alexander. “At this year’s event, I was again inspired by the dedication of our frontline staff and the generosity of our donors, whose support ensures that President and Mrs. Carter’s enduring legacy lives on.”

Held June 18–21 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the annual fundraiser featured updates from Carter Center leadership, briefings on the Center’s peace and health initiatives, local excursions, and live and silent auctions. Carter Center experts from the U.S. and abroad discussed topics such as delivering health programs against great odds, democracy at a crossroads, and carrying out President Carter’s legacy of peace and human rights.

Top bids in the live auction included a Willie Nelson-signed guitar with signature red bandanna, Hank Aaron memorabilia, and a yellow and rose gold cuff bracelet that belonged to Mrs. Carter, as well as unique vacation getaways to Waialea Bay, Hawaii; Punta Gorda, Belize; and Zanzibar, Tanzania.

Other auction items that commanded top bids:

  • Copy of the Bill of Rights bearing the signature of four U.S. presidents: George Bush, Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, and Gerald Ford.
  • A guitar featuring the signatures of rock ‘n’ roll icons Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Don Henley, John Fogerty, Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, and Dave Matthews.
  • A limited-edition art portfolio with “views of human rights” from artists and global leaders, including the Dalai Lama, Maya Angelou, and Robert Redford.

More winning bids can be viewed in the catalogs posted online.

All proceeds support the Center’s ongoing initiatives to wage peace, fight disease, and build hope in the world’s most underserved and marginalized communities. For more than three decades, Carter Center Weekend gatherings have raised over $50 million to advance its mission.

The next Carter Center Weekend will take place in June 2027 at the Grand Geneva in Geneva Lake, WI. For more information and to stay updated on Carter Center events, please subscribe to our email newsletter.
