Israel attacks Lebanon

1. Fresh Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon killed five people this morning, state officials said, despite a new ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah announced just a day earlier. 

Social media ban

2. Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Tánaiste Simon Harris have welcomed UK plans for a social media ban for under-16s, but opposition parties and MLAs in Northern Ireland have raised doubts over enforcement and effectiveness, warning it could be easily circumvented and may fail to improve online safety.
