Late comedian Jon Kenny’s Limerick home goes on the market for €1.2m

Jon Kenny’s Co Limerick home near Bruff goes on the market with a €1.2m asking price.

The Co Limerick home of the late Jon Kenny, which he built with his wife Margy, has been placed on the market with an asking price of €1.2m.

The 20-acre property near Bruff was purchased and developed by Mr Kenny and his wife in 2001.

The comedian and actor, best known as one half of comedy duo D'Unbelievables alongside Pat Shortt, died aged 66 in 2024 following a long period of ill health.

Mr Kenny was also widely recognised for roles in Father Ted, Angela's Ashes and, more recently, The Banshees of Inisherin.

Countryside retreat

Over the past two decades, Jon and Margy Kenny maintained and upgraded the Bruff property, creating a secluded countryside retreat.

Located partly on the grounds of the former Rockbarton House estate, the residence sits on approximately 20 acres of private land.

Advertised by Wheeler Auctioneers, the property is described on Daft.ie as a “private family home of real character and scale” that combines “country seclusion” with proximity to Limerick City, which is about 20 minutes away.

The home includes landscaped gardens, ornamental ponds, mature woodland, stud-railed paddocks, bridle paths, and a range of outbuildings.

The property extends to approximately 3,928 sq ft and also includes equestrian facilities, a dedicated studio and music room, and extensive outdoor amenities.

Mr Kenny, who had a strong interest in horses, also had railed paddocks and stables constructed on the property, making it suitable as an equestrian base.
