Apple recently concluded its “Surprise and shine” event on September 9, 2026. The keynote took place on a Wednesday, continuing Apple’s broader practice of holding its flagship iPhone launches during the second week of September, even though the company has often opted for Tuesdays in recent years.
Among the devices launched at the event was Apple first foldable -The iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Apple Watch 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and Airpods 5 with regular and wireless charging case.
The highlight of the event was the iPhone Duo, Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which the company saved for the finale. The device drew considerable attention both online and offline, with many observers praising the seamless transition animation between the cover display and the larger inner screen. However, its pricing sparked equally intense discussion in India, with some users describing the nearly ₹3 lakh starting price as difficult to justify given its US starting price of $1,999 (approximately ₹1.75 lakh)
Also launched at the event was the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at ₹1,79,900 for the 256GB variant, while the 512GB, 1TB and 2TB models are priced at ₹2,04,900, ₹2,54,900 and ₹3,29,900, respectively. The smartphone will be available in Burgundy, Glacier, Silver and Black colour options.
The iPhone 18 Pro is priced at ₹1,64,900 for the 256GB model, with the 512GB, 1TB and 2TB variants costing ₹1,89,900, ₹2,39,900 and ₹3,14,900, respectively. It will also be offered in Burgundy, Glacier, Silver and Black finishes.
The Apple Watch Series 12 starts at ₹56,900 and will be available in 42mm and 46mm case sizes, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 starts at ₹1,09,900 and comes in Natural Titanium and Black Titanium finishes.
On the audio front, the AirPods 5 are priced at ₹14,900, while the AirPods 5 with Wireless Charging Case are available for ₹17,900.
