Blake Krass gives his best bet, pick and prediction for Wednesday’s FIFA World Cup match between Scotland and Brazil.
There is a massive match in Group C between Scotland and Brazil. Scotland would guarantee itself a spot in the Round of 32 with a result against Brazil. Meanwhile, Brazil would be in a great position to win the group with a win over the Scots. This game takes place at 6:00 p.m. ET at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida.
Here are the odds for the match:
Let’s dive into my favorite bet for this match.
It was a dream start to the World Cup for Scotland. This team knows its identity and knows it lacks creativity and quality going forward. They are very strong defensively and have great players in the middle of the park like John McGinn, Scott McTominay and Ryan Christie. Scotland can hold off the best of attacks, but goals will always be an issue. In the opening match, they grabbed a goal in the 28th minute against Haiti and could just defend for the final hour of the match. However, in the second match, Morocco scored early and forced Scotland to come to them. Scotland was unable to find a way through and score a goal. They now need a point out of this match to guarantee a spot in the next round.
It was a shaky opening match for Brazil, getting a draw against Morocco. They looked completely disjointed going forward and more like a group of individuals than a team. However, the second match was much more clinical from the Brazilians. They bagged three goals in the first half against Haiti and kept a clean sheet in the match. The attacking group of Vinicius Junior, Matheus Cunha and Raphinha is one of the most dangerous in the tournament. If the team can start clicking and flowing better, they will be tough to beat deep into this tournament.
My best bet is for Brazil to win and keep a clean sheet. Brazil kept a clean sheet against Haiti and proved how tough they can be defensively. While they are known for their attacking stars, Brazil is captained by Marquinhos. The PSG centerback holds down the back line and is joined by Gabriel in that centerback pairing. Casemiro and Bruno Guimaraes are two brilliant defensive midfielders creating a first line of defense before even getting to those centerbacks. Behind all of them is Alisson, one of the world’s greatest keepers. Scotland already struggles to score goals, and it will only be tougher against this stiff competition. Brazil has too much quality up top not to nab a goal or two and get the three points in this one.
