Cristopher Sanchez, Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets ($11,700) — Sanchez got roughed up a bit last start, allowing four earned runs on eight hits, which included two home runs, in 5.2 innings. That resulted in only 5.4 FPTS. All that proved was that he’s human. In the prior seven starts, Sanchez put up at least 30 FPTS in six with a high of 51.6 FPTS. The game that he “missed”, he finished with 26.4 FPTS. The season-long numbers are fantastic – 2.14 FIP, 24.2% K-BB% and six home runs allowed in 99 innings. Now he faces a Mets team that is 28th in ISO, 29th in wOBA and 27th in wRC+.

J.T. Ginn, Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels ($6,900) — Ginn has a 2.91 ERA through 77.1 innings. The FIP is much higher at 4.08, though, as the BABIP is only .245. The K-BB% is only 11.4% but the barrel rate is low at 6.1% with only eight home runs allowed. Ginn has put up double-digit FPTS in 11 starts, with four over 20 and two above 30 FPTS. One of those came against these Angels, a 34.1 FPTS performance, as he pitched eight innings while allowing only two earned runs with 10 strikeouts. The Angels strikeout at the highest clip in MLB.

INFIELD

Spencer Horwitz, Pittsburgh Pirates at Colorado Rockies ($5,100) — Horwitz is slashing a solid .281/.389/.456 with a 14.2% walk rate, 13.5% strikeout rate and .175 ISO. Against right-handed pitching, the wRC+ is 142 with the ISO at .195. Eight of the nine home runs hit have come against righties. Horwitz is batting leadoff, will be in Coors Field and face Tomoyuki Sugano, who is allowing an average exit velocity of 90.8 mph and a barrel rate of 14.5%. Against lefties, the FIP is 6.51 with a K-BB% of 3.2%. Nine of the 13 home runs allowed have come off the bat of a lefty. The Rockies bullpen is also #notgood.

Miguel Rojas, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Baltimore Orioles ($2,500) — Rojas only has 124 plate appearances on the season, but that’s because he’s a lefty masher. Against left-handed pitching, the wRC+ is 138 with an ISO of .161. Trevor Rogers has a 4.82 FIP and 8.1% K-BB% against righties while eight of the nine home runs allowed have come off the bat of a righty.

OUTFIELD

Ryan O’Hearn, Pittsburgh Pirates at Colorado Rockies ($5,600) — I went over in the Horwitz section how Sugano has struggled against lefties. O’Hearn has a 138 wRC+ against right-handed pitching with a .190 ISO. This game is in Coors Field and the bullpen is a poor one for the Rockies. Yup, we stacking.

Trevor Larnach, Minnesota Twins at Arizona Diamondbacks ($3,500) — Larnach has been batting leadoff the last six games. Against right-handed pitching, the wRC+ is 134, walk rate is 12.7% and strikeout rate is 18.5%. Four of the five home runs hit have come against righties. Zac Gallen is allowing an average exit velocity of 91 mph and is posting a 5.32 FIP and 4% K-BB% against lefties. Over the last two games, Larnach has gone 7-for-11 with two home runs. That’s been good for 26 and 25 FPTS.
