Best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander player prop bets for Thunder...

Check out some of the best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop bets for Thunder vs. Spurs Game 2 in the NBA Playoffs.

The NBA’s Western Conference Finals opened with a bang earlier this week in a Game 1 that can only be called pure cinema. The Oklahoma City Thunder forced overtime in the final seconds before eventually falling to the San Antonio Spurs, and tonight these teams clash again in OKC. The now back-to-back MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, was held in check last time out in a rare quiet outing. Will that happen once again, or will he rally back to help even the series tonight?

Here are the top Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for Wednesday’s Thunder vs. Spurs Game 2 in the Western Conference Finals.

Best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop bets

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player for a reason. The 27-year-old averaged a cool 31.1 points and 6.6 assists per game while stepping up his shooting efficiency to a career-best 55.3% FG% and a 38.6% 3P%. To top that off, he pitched in 4.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals a night as well, leading the reigning champs to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference for the second straight year. After averaging 32.7 points and 6.4 dimes en route to the MVP last season, the superstar guard became part of an elite club to win the award multiple times, much less in back-to-back campaigns.

In the NBA Playoffs, Gilgeous-Alexander has largely been excellent once again. His numbers sit at 28.6 points and 7.7 assists per game, though his efficiency has dropped some to 48.5% overall and a rough 31.6% from deep. He continues to lead the way for his team and could arguably have even better counting stats if not for a couple of blowouts in which he hit the bench early. However, things looked a little different in Game 1 as he played his worst outing of the postseason — he tallied 24 points and 12 assists while hitting a late layup to force overtime, but shot just 30.4% (7-for-23) and 28.6% from three (2-for-7). There’s a real question surrounding whether the Spurs have found the game plan to slow him down.

Tonight, DraftKings Sportsbook lists Gilgeous-Alexander’s prop bet lines at O/U 29.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 three pointers. His combined PTS + REB + AST line comes in at 41.5.

This season, Gilgeous-Alexander has faced off against the Spurs a total of five times, including the playoff game on Monday. His stats over those performances sit at 28.4 points, 6.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game, shooting 46.4% from the field and just 21.4% from three. The last figure among those is the one we can focus on tonight.

There’s plenty of chatter suggesting that San Antonio’s defensive coverages may have unlocked the key to slowing the superstar guard down. It’s a little too early to say that’s an outright fact, but it’s notable that his shooting percentage drops 8.9 percentage points against this Spurs group. The length of Victor Wembanyama under the paint surely plays a role in Gilgeous-Alexander’s finishing ability under the basket, but it’s quite possible that the combination of Stephon Castle, Julian Champagnie and Dylan Harper on the perimeter are enough to bother the star. SGA’s three-point percentage has never been the strongest part of his game, but a 21.4% mark is frankly terrible for a player of his caliber.

In the five meetings against the Spurs this season, Gilgeous-Alexander went under 1.5 made threes in all but one of those. The one case in which he did make more than that came on Monday, but he also connected on just two of his seven attempts. After failing to get much going from beyond the arc in the vast majority of his recent games against this defense, I endorse the under in this three-pointer market tonight as the top prop bet for SGA.

Best bet: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander under 1.5 made threes (-121)
