DraftKings Fantasy Golf Picks: 2026 U.S. Open Predictions...
Alex Hunter · 2026-06-17 · via DraftKings Network

Alex Hunter previews the U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills and gives his picks for your DraftKings fantasy golf lineups.

The U.S. Open will be played at Shinnecock Hills (par 70, 7,440 yards, Bentgrass/POA mixed greens) in Southampton, New York. This course has hosted the U.S. Open five times, most recently in 2004 and 2018. In 2018, Brooks Koepka (+1) won by one stroke over Tommy Fleetwood. The U.S. Open features 156 players competing for a $20 million purse, and after the first two rounds, there will be a top-60 and ties cut.

Below, I’ll dive into three of my favorite DFS options on DraftKings for the U.S. Open.

Top Golf DFS Picks for the 2026 U.S. Open

Tyrell Hatton ($8,700)

Hatton’s resume at the U.S. Open is underrated. The Englishman has made 6-of-9 cuts and carded five finishes of T27th or better at this major. Most notably, Hatton finished T4th at Oakmont CC last season and T6th at Shinnecock in 2018. The 34-year-old now travels back to Shinnecock coming off a two-shot win at LIV Golf Andalucia two weeks ago. This season on LIV, Hatton has finished inside the top-10 in 4-of-9 starts, and he ranks fourth on the circuit points.

Between LIV and the DP World TOUR, Hatton has impressively won four times in the last two years. He missed the cut at the PGA Championship last month, but Hatton had made the cut at eight consecutive majors before this, with five finishes of T16 or better, including a T3 at the Masters in April.

Shinnecock is an extremely difficult course where wind is always a big factor, but evident from his T6 at this venue in 2018, Hatton is well experienced in competing in the wind, and he should provide another high finish at Shinnecock this week.

Viktor Hovland ($8,100)

Hovland has had a disappointing season, but he finally found something in his game last week at the RBC Canadian Open. Hovland finished T3rd at TPC Toronto, marking his first top-five finish of the season. Hovland shot under par in all four of his rounds, and he caught fire on the weekend, shooting a 6-under 64 and a 5-under 65. For the event, Hovland ranked second in SG APP and 18th in SGP.

Hovland gained 2.73 total strokes at TPC Toronto, which is the most he has gained since his T3 at last year’s U.S. Open played at Oakmont, which is a similar test to Shinneock, as both are long par 70s located in the Northeast. Hovland has finished T13th or better in 3-of-6 starts at the U.S. Open, and he is way underpriced for his upside at only $8,100, which is the cheapest he has been on DraftKings this season.

Hovland ranks 27th in SG APP and 32nd in proximity to the hole on 150-175-yard approach shots this season, both of which are terrific signs for Shinnecock. Koepka led the field in SG APP when he won at this track in 2018, and 25.9% of the approach shots that week came from 150-175 yards, compared to the PGA TOUR average of 20%.

Robert MacIntyre ($7,000)

MacIntyre nearly won last year’s U.S. Open at Oakmont, finishing solo runner-up and only two shots back of the winner in J.J. Spaun. MacIntyre concluded the major with a 1-under 69 and a 2-under 68, making him the only player in the field to shoot under par in each of the final two rounds at the demanding Oakmont.

MacIntyre has made 3-of-4 cuts at the U.S. Open, and he faces another difficult par 70 this week in Shinnecock. The Scot looks ready for the challenge, as he is on the heels of a T15 finish at the RBC Canadian Open last week, in which he gained strokes in every major category.

MacIntyre has displayed big upside this season, finishing inside the top-five three times, and he ranks 13th in SGP, setting him up nicely for Shinnecock. With this par 70 presenting large and complex putting surfaces, having a strong week with your flat stick is a must at Shinnecock. When Koepka won at this course in 2018, he finished the event third in SGP. MacIntyre contending at the U.S. Open for the second straight year isn’t out of the question, and he is a steal at this $7,000 salary, which is the cheapest he has been on DraftKings this season by a significant $1,200.
