OpenCloud at the IT Sovereignty and OSS Day II in Nuremberg

Digital sovereignty requires concrete solutions

Global interdependencies, regulatory requirements and growing uncertainties are bringing digital sovereignty more into focus. It affects businesses, public bodies and organisations, for example when selecting cloud infrastructures, communication solutions or collaboration applications.

Open source can play an important role here. Openly accessible code, open standards and the ability to carry out independent further development provide greater control over key IT systems. However, it is not just the licence that is crucial, but whether solutions can be operated securely, maintained in the long term and integrated effectively into existing structures.

Keynote: More Than Safety Nets

OpenCloud will be represented at the IT Sovereignty and OSS Day II with two presentations. First, Peer Heinlein, founder and CEO of the Heinlein Group, will speak in his keynote address ‘Digital Parachutes’ about how organisations can remain capable of acting and protect themselves strategically, even in situations of critical dependency.

Anyone planning digital infrastructure should not wait until a crisis arises to consider alternatives. What is needed are robust structures that take into account options for change, transparency and control right from the start.

OpenCloud and OpenTalk as a practical example

Following this, Tobias Baader, Product Manager at OpenCloud, will speak alongside João Neisinger from the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Middle Franconia about a specific practical example: the use of OpenCloud and OpenTalk in the context of digital sovereignty.

The presentation demonstrates how open solutions can be implemented within real-world organisational structures – not as a theoretical concept, but as part of an IT strategy that places greater emphasis on control over data, infrastructure and digital processes.

Participation is free of charge. You can register via the event page.

We look forward to the discussion in Nuremberg.
