We’ll let you in on a secret: you don’t need to run Nextcloud to enjoy the Nextcloud Community Conference 2026 and take a great deal of value home with you. We are here to explain why.
For starters, let’s answer the question: who is the Nextcloud Community Conference for?
For the 10th year, the Nextcloud Community Conference and Contributor Week is a place of gathering for people at the heart of the Nextcloud community. It’s the contributors who help us create new features, fix bugs and polish Nextcloud, and also the app developers who expand Nextcloud’s growing ecosystem.
And while a lot of people are directly involved in coding, let’s not forget about those who translate the UI, write the documentation, create content, and test Nextcloud apps.
Nextcloud Community Conference’s program is just as diverse. We don’t only discuss hacking and app building. We also get into design and docs, and even open source marketing and practical implementation of Nextcloud in the real world, and many more topics beyond that.
Together, we build a solid trajectory for Nextcloud and the community for years to come. If you are a contributor or an app developer, the Nextcloud Community Conference is definitely for you.
The Nextcloud Community Conference is, of course, very relevant to everyone who is using and running Nextcloud at home or at work. It’s a great place to learn about using and managing your Nextcloud, meet and talk to our engineers and team, pitch ideas, and even showcase your projects on stage.
Look at it like the Nextcloud community forum, but live, with in-person discussions, networking, and lots of fun! So if you use Nextcloud, you belong at the Nextcloud Community Conference too.
So is it just for the Nextcloud crowd, contributors, and admins? Not at all. Our community is very dynamic, and as Nextcloud has a prominent role in the open source universe, the Nextcloud Community Conference is relevant to everyone who creates and uses FOSS, or is interested in topics like privacy and freedom. It’s a great place to meet and to learn new things.
We invite speakers with big names in the open source sphere, representatives of human rights movements, important privacy advocates. We raise questions that don’t have easy answers. And we like hearing everyone’s opinions about them.
So if you are interested in making the world a better place, protect privacy and digital freedom, and do so through open and fair tech, you are welcome to be part of the Nextcloud Community Conference.
The Nextcloud community is one of the biggest and most dynamic open source communities in our field. This year marks a big milestone: 10 years of the Nextcloud ecosystem and community.
That makes the Nextcloud Community Conference 2026 a once-in-a-lifetime event. If you love open source, and Nextcloud in particular, it’s a must-attend.

Host a 30–60 minute interactive workshop session. For example, about developing a Nextcloud app or building workflows. Or attend one and learn new skills with others.
As a volunteer at the Nextcloud Community Conference, you can help us run the event while you learn new skills, build organizational experience, network, and have fun.

Contributor Week follows the Nextcloud Community Conference weekend and continues until September 25. Stay for hacking, developer sprints, and networking with the community.
Part of the Contributor Week, developer sprints are your opportunity to collaborate in person with other Nextcloud members during focused working sessions.
