Congratulations to Our Winter 2025 CPI Undergraduate Awar...
Regina Singh · 2025-05-02 · via Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute

Despite frigid temperatures and grueling workloads, University of Waterloo students persevered through it all last term and it seems to have paid off in the form of academic pursuits for a certain bunch of individuals.

Thanks to the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute (CPI), the following scholars earned a CPI Undergraduate Award in their respective courses for the Winter 2025 term:

Secure Programming (CS 489 6645) – Shari Sun

Applied Cryptography (CO 487 6129) - Eric Wang & Ethan Liu

Software and Systems Security (CS 453 8148) Yi Bo Cheng

Privacy, Cryptography, Network and Data Security (CS 459 8149) - Monica Suh

This notable award recognizes the top performing scholar(s) in any course that has a significant cybersecurity and privacy component, and each recipient will receive $1,000 courtesy of CPI.

Through this initiative, CPI hopes to nurture aspiring cybersecurity professionals and in doing so, help address the talent gap that persists in the field. If you are interested in supporting this award program in any future term or wish to engage with world leading talent, please contact us at ccpi@uwaterloo.ca or click here.
