TRACE by isla launches Business Operations
Laura Allen · 2026-04-16 · via isla

“Event businesses have needed a more practical way to measure their own operations without losing sight of event reporting.”

TRACE by isla has launched TRACE Business Operations, an addition to the leading carbon measurement platform, and a new solution that enables event businesses to measure and report emissions from their day-to-day operations separately from event activity.

Emissions reporting has become a standard business practice, but event businesses have historically lacked a way to report clear, consistent and credible data that is aligned across their business and event operations. TRACE by isla has developed this capability in-platform to power reporting that is aligned with the workflows and operational realities of the events sector.

Built for agencies, venues, suppliers and organisers, the new offering gives teams one place to capture data relating to operational carbon emissions from offices, venues and wider business activity, while allowing relevant data to feed into event workflow as needed.

The launch addresses a common challenge experienced across the events sector. Operational emissions and event-related emissions are often recorded in different systems, with different boundaries and levels of detail. That can make reporting slower, more manual and harder to compare over time.

TRACE Business Operations is designed to deliver a clearer operational baseline across sites and reporting periods. Teams can record electricity, gas, and water use, distinguish mains energy from temporary installations, and track operational transport of goods and materials. The platform also supports measurement of staff commuting, business travel, accommodation and homeworking.

By separating business operations data from event activity by design, TRACE aims to support more consistent reporting and reduce duplication, while still giving users the option to connect relevant data to event workflows where there is a clear link.

“Event businesses have needed a more practical way to measure their own operations without losing sight of event reporting,” said Anna Abdelnoor, CEO & Founder at isla. “We’re solving this in TRACE, offering a clearer operational picture and a more consistent reporting structure, while aligning data with integrating reporting into event workflows where it adds value. It is about making reporting more usable for the reality of how this industry works.”

The new solution has been developed to reflect different business models across the industry. For agencies, it supports company-level reporting alongside event delivery. For venues, it provides a way to track utilities and other site-based data more consistently, with the option to link relevant space data to event activity. For suppliers, it allows operational travel, transport and commuting data to be captured once and reused where relevant. For organisers, it provides a broader view of operational impact across business activity, while offering greater flexibility in how data is managed across operations and events.

TRACE Business Operations is available now. More information is available here
