Plugable USBC-10IN1E hub

The new USBC-10IN1E hub from Plugable Technologies is an easy way to add ports and connectivity to a laptop.

PLUGABLE

If you’ve recently bought yourself a MacBook Neo, you’re probably wondering how to make the most of its single USB 3 port. Unfortunately, the A18 Pro chip used in the Neo can’t support more than one high-speed USB port, so if you want to expand your Neo with extra connectivity, you’ve only got one port to play with, unless you buy yourself a hub, such as the new USBC-10IN1E from Plugable Technologies.

Plugable makes a range of connectivity gadgets and the brand’s latest product is a 10-in-1 USB-C hub that could have been purpose-made for the new MacBook Neo. It’s the only hub of its type to offer up to 140W of pass-through charging capability as well as native 8K HDMI output and a super-fast 2.5Gbps Ethernet port.

The long and slim hub measures 14 x 34 x 216mm and weighs just 109g. It’s been designed with hybrid workers, content creators and digital nomads in mind and can handle up to 140W of pass-through power. The hub has a 170mm fixed USB-C cable and is suitable for MacBooks, MacBook Pros and other power-hungry laptops.

The new 10-in-1 hub from Plugable has two USB-C ports and three USB-A ports. There's also a 2.5Gbps Ethnernet ports, HDMI output and slots for SD and microSD memory cards.

Eliminating Tradeoffs

“USB-C hubs usually come with tradeoffs,” says Lynn Smurthwaite-Murphy, CEO of Plugable. “It’s a compromise between power, display quality and performance. With the USBC-10IN1E, we wanted to eliminate those tradeoffs. This hub delivers performance you’d expect from a docking station in a size that fits in your bag. We built it for how people actually work today.”

The USBC-10IN1E supports Power Delivery 3.1 and can deliver up to 125W to its host device, enabling full-speed charging for demanding laptops like Apple’s 16-inch MacBook Pro, even under heavy workloads.

For display performance, the USBC-10IN1E has native HDMI 2.1 output, supporting displays up to 8K at 30Hz or 4K at 144Hz. The hub doesn’t require a driver, so it’s true plug-and-play. Plugable says it’s capable of supporting 4K 144Hz on modern M3, Pro or Max series Macs running macOS 26 or later. Base M1, M2, MacBook Neo, or Macs running macOS 15 or below support 4K 60Hz displays.

Most laptops have very few ports, so a hub is the best way of extending connectivity for displays, SSDs and networks.

The hub also has a 2.5Gb Ethernet port, SD and microSD card readers, two USB-C 10Gbps ports, plus three high-speed USB-A ports. One of the USB-A ports supports speeds up to 10Gbps with BC 1.2 charging support, while the other two ports operate at 5Gbps. That said, remember that the MacBook Neo only has 10Gbps to play with, which must be shared with all the hub’s ports.

Unlike many hubs that prioritize portability, the Plugable USBC-10IN1E is purpose-built for single-display setups that need high bandwidth, stable power and solid connectivity. The driverless design means it’s compatible across USB-C, USB4 and Thunderbolt systems running Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS, making is suitable for mixed-device environments and IT deployments. The only thing it’s missing is a 3.5mm audio jack.

Pricing and Availability:

The Plugable USBC-10IN1E hub is available now from Amazon and Plugable.com, priced at $74.95. To mark the hub’s launch, Plugable is offering a limited-time launch discount of 30%.
