Hasso Plattner Institute and Citizen Lab doctoral fellow Swantje Lange spoke with Tagesspiegel about the Lab’s recent research on telecom surveillance campaigns. The report exposes how commercial surveillance vendors exploit vulnerabilities in the global telecom interconnect ecosystem to track targets. 

While it is “mainly people like journalists, politicians, or opposition figures”  who are targeted, the problem is still “societally relevant,” says Lange.
